I’m Esther, a Master of Information student at the University of Toronto, specializing in User Experience Design. With a background in English, Creative Writing, and Marketing, I’m deeply passionate about creating intuitive, accessible, and user-centred digital experiences. My curiosity and love for problem-solving and storytelling drive me to bridge the gap between creative design and user needs, crafting solutions that truly resonate with people and improve their daily interactions with technology. I’m excited to transition into UX design because it allows me to combine my storytelling abilities and love for building authentic connections with people to create digital spaces where users feel seen, understood, and supported by intuitive, responsive design.
I bring a strong background in marketing, publicity, and social media management. At companies like Penguin Random House, Harlequin, and Sleepout, I led marketing, publicity, and social media campaigns and used data-driven insights to refine product strategies. I helped drive user engagement and fostered authentic, deep connections between brands and audiences. This experience has fueled my eagerness to transition into UX, where I can leverage my skills in communication, user engagement, and digital content creation to craft impactful, user-centred experiences.
Throughout my studies, I’ve worked on a variety of UX projects. One example is Neighbourly, a community-driven platform for resource sharing, where I helped design intuitive features that promoted social good. In the Riipen Level Up Program, I was selected as Project Lead and UX/UI Designer for Infogenetica, a wellness e-commerce company. I led the end-to-end redesign of their website, conducting user research, creating wireframes in Figma, and running accessibility audits and heuristic evaluations to ensure our design solutions were strategic and inclusive, meeting user and business needs.
I’m excited to bring my diverse skill set in marketing, research, and storytelling into the world of UX, with a focus on creating designs that are accessible, empathetic, and innovative. I’m driven by the idea that technology should simplify lives, not complicate them. I believe user-centred design is the key to creating meaningful and lasting experiences that make a difference. I’m passionate about making sure every interaction feels intuitive, personal, and valuable—because at the heart of it, design isn’t just about solving problems; it’s about connecting with people and making their lives easier, one thoughtful design at a time.
