Sustainable Supply Chain Policy Framework for Social Enterprises
The project aims to develop a comprehensive public policy framework to bolster sustainable, local Canadian supply chains and establish the legal standing of social enterprises. The framework will focus on creating policies that protect natural resources, promote ethical business practices, and incentivize local production. Additionally, it will ensure that businesses with a social mission, like Your Sweet Spot Life, are recognized and supported by regulatory structures and government incentives. The project will involve researching existing policies, identifying gaps, and proposing new policies that align with sustainable and ethical business practices. Students will apply their knowledge of public policy, sustainability, and business ethics to create a framework that supports the growth and recognition of social enterprises in Canada.
Rural Resource Potential Analysis
Your Sweet Spot Life is seeking a comprehensive analysis of financially depressed rural communities in Canada that possess specific natural resources. The goal is to identify areas that are within 150–200 kilometers of a major city center and have access to affordable, clean power sources such as hydroelectric, geothermal, or wind energy. Additionally, these communities should be near a water source suitable for damming and have access to a natural, non-commercialized hot spring. The land must include both mineral and surface land rights. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of geography, economics, and resource management to identify potential areas for sustainable development and investment.
